Hailing from the greatest city on earth, Baltimore, Maryland, Bria is an aspiring actress turned scientist with a passion for science communication.

As a undergraduate Bria was a recipient of the National Institutes of Health Minority Access to Research Careers (NIH MARC) program, providing her the opportunity to jumpstart her academic research career.

In her doctoral program, Bria utilized stem cell derived endothelial cells to study vascular regeneration in 3D environments. In addition to this work Bria studied the role of hypoxia in vascular regeneration of ischemic tissues. Bria received a NIH Pre-doctoral F31 Fellowship to support this work.

As a postdoc Bria now works on the development of therapeutic gene editing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases.

In her free time Bria enjoys playing with her dog, Gio, watching The Office, and exercising.
